Rob, The lib SasMaster reffers to is the Prefab lib I think here.
Plus, the obj file was using multiple materials applied on one mesh which is atm not supported in Prefab for a bunch of technical reasons.

Hey SasMaster

unfortunately the obj importer as yet doesn't use the materialLibrary. this is something we hope to rectify soon, as it is one of our 'loose ends' to be tied up before the 2.5 release

cheers

I have a model in 3ds max 9 which has several different materials on
it but when I export it as wavefront .obj into Away3d directly or
into PreFab the materialLibrary is null and I cant assign the matching
materials to the model. may be in .obj the process is different ?/
Till now Iwas doing it with DAE but I stumbled into issue that after
importing DAE into Away3d it's pivot point was getting very huge
offset from it's default position.
Any help with this ,please ,I am breaking my head already 7
hours !!!!!!!!! Help doodes !!!!
