When I start emacs, its height is shrinking very fast down to a few lines. Also, the width of the window is set to about 30 chars. Resizing the window afterwards works. 100% reproducible, even with emacs -q. With both versions 23 and 24 of emacs. Does not appear on gnome. Attached the window as shown by emacs -q.
