Hi, Steffano.

I'd be glad to help you to test gnome-awesome-applet.

I've been using GNOME + Awesome for some time and it's been great. My
current setup includes a shortcut for toggling the wibox visibility
(mod + B), which is initially hidden. I only use the wibox to see the
current layout.

An applet for the GNOME panel would allow me to completely get rid of
the wibox, which is something I've been wanting to do since I first
started using Awesome with GNOME. Not that there is anything wrong
with the wibox - Awesome just blends better with GNOME when the wibox
is disabled.

Please email me if you need any help.

Cheers,
