Hi,
When issuing material to production department you have several options:
Transfer items from your materials warehouse to a Production warehouse using a
Transfer Journal. This will allow the production picking list to automatically
pick the materials from that location
Set the materials warehouse as the default warehouse for the production order
picking list so that production pick straight from your inventory.
Use a movement Journal to write off the inventory from materials warehouse and
another to write it into the production warehouse.
The Production order requests materials from stores using either a requistion
or a picking list.
When receiving Produced Inventory from Production the options are:
Automatic Report as finished Journal which is done by the production order.
This will place the finished product into the warehouse assigned on the report
as finished journal in the production order.
Report the quanitties as finished into a production warehouse then use either a
transfer journal or movement journals to send them into the finished Goods
inventory.
If you have a test area take a look at the Production Modue. Create a new
production order as a test. Go through the motions of creating the order.
View the fields on all tabs of the production order carefully and you will see
what fields can be updated and preset in order to make your production run
smoothly. The help files alco contain some "how to" information. Hope this
