Hi Seetharaman,

Resolution Query 1:
Check the string length of Serial number EDT (InventSerial). By default it is
20.
Length of Date will be of 8 char.
Check reference number length --> in this case it is Production order number
(EDT --> ProdId).
check length of your number sequence (format you have defined)

If the string length of Serial number is less than the string length of (Date +
Reference number + Number sequence), then system does not allow user to update
the transaction.

Resolution Query 2:
For updation the Serial number with the date of report of finished, on the
selected Serial number group, you have check the check box
1. Only for inventory transaction = Ticked
2. On Physical update = Ticked

Both these are available on General tab --> Allocation group

Hope this will resolve your queries.

Have a nice day ahead........

Subject: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Serial number - production order

Hi eng_elcoach!

Thanks for reply,

Just now i tried it.

In Serial number group form under General Tab if i use any one option
like
Date, Reference No. it is function well.

If i use all the three option like Date , Reference number & Number
sequences it throughing me error message (Line 1, update has been
canceled).

While iam using single option called - Date option, transaction
serial
number of production order updated with the production start date,
instead of
Report as finished date.

Could you guide me how bring in to function with all the option
(date, ref
no. & number) were date should be report as finished date.

Thanks in advance,
