Yes, I am able to ping the server and other machines from the laptop. An additional thing that I found today, if I log onto the laptop using my id I receive the same error. The only variable that I can come up with is that these laptops are all Dell Vostros rather that the Latitudes that we have in the office. I cannot believe that this has anything to do with the issue, but it is rather odd.
