I'd suggest "no". Download AxKit2, copy etc/axkit.conf.sample to etc/axkit.conf and run "./axkit". Connect to http://localhost:8000 and check out the examples. Compare them to the actual source code used, living in plugins/demo/, and you will see that it is probably easier to use pure AxKit2.
