I agree with Cheri. It may still be a little cool and stormy if you go too early. Also, if you go too early, the flowers, especially Hydrangeas, will not yet be at their best. There are some potential trade-offs you need to evaluate. Fares may be cheaper in April than in May and hotel accomodations easier to get and lower priced. (Google Quinta do Martelo and Aldeia da Cuada). As Cheri said, there are going to be more Festas in May also. I personally would prefer May based on previous experience but, you never know how the weather's going to turn out. John Vasconcelos
