Hello all those interested,

I believe that for S. Miguel it was the "Batalhao de Cacadores No.11", which
later was to become the "Batalhao de Infantaria No.18", based in Arrifes, Ponta
Delgada.
Try a google search.
Hope that helps.
Hermano

Maria,

I would love to see what you found. I have some ancestors who were cacadores
(not sure of what number though). I checked too, but did not come up with
anything. Can you forward me the pictures you found. Thank you.

Hi, Cheri and all who helped with the Matriz question. Now I know which
microfilms to order. I got info on the Internet regarding the Cazadores or
hunters. Even got pictures of the uniforms to put in the ancestor's scrapbook.
 Thanks anyway.Thanks again.Maria
