Dora, Honestly I don't remember the time period, but I would guess the mid to late 1800's. The person who asked the instructor about jumping ship was the father in his 50's with his son taking the class with him (son in his late 20's). It was the father's grandfather who had jumped ship. His father (grandfather of the person taking the class) was still alive and his grandfather (who jumped ship) had passed away by then, but did discuss jumping ship with his grandson.
Doug da Rocha Holmes was the instructor and I'm not sure if he's on this group, but I believe his father is. It was a while ago when the class was given. Hope this helps!
