Hi Michele, I read your response to Kevin and I hoped you could help me too. My grandfather resided in New Bedford from 1900 to 1915. His name was Manuel Rose Marshall or Marcial. He was born in the Azores 7-25-1877. My grandmother name was Mary Freitas born 3-25-1883. I would appreciate it if you could lookup their names in the New England Historial Society Website. Any information would be appreciated. Serpa born in New Bedford 5/5/1908 on the New England Historical Society website. His parents are Manuel P. Serpa & Maria Consalation. The father was a laborer originally from Pico, Azores and the mother was from Terceira, Azores. It's Volume 574, Page 329. Give me a few minutes and I'll try to find Joseph's birth record & their marriage record as well. Serpa. He was born in about 1873 and emigrated from the Azores in about 1891. He ended up in New Bedford, Massachusetts. At least he lived there by 1930. His wife was "Mary", at least that was how she was described in 1930, and he had two sons, Joseph and Manuel A. Serpa. The latter was my grandfather, and a good guy he was, too. Anyone know of either Manual P. or his wife, Mary?
