You're going to have to find more records on this ancestor. What year did she die? Was she a citizen of the US? If your searches on her don't turn up a less butchered freguesia/village/town, you will have to chase her siblings down. What do their death certificates say? A list of Sao Miguel freguesias are here: http://homepage.mac.com/kmacardoza/Genealogy/saomiguel.html The closest I can think of (and it's not close) is Lagoa or maybe Rosto do Cao, but the syllables aren't even right.
