I looked at the record for the marriage of your Manuel and Mariana......definetly not the manuel born to Antonio and Isabel de Jesus in 1841....yours was born in 1844 to different parents. However, your Manuels mother was also one of the "de Jesus" women connected to the name Bettencourt. I believe that my Isabel de Jesus da Silveira was also a "de Bettencourt"......I'm continuing my search on this family although the going is slow. I wouldn't be surprised to see a connection between these families as we make more discoveries! Their son Joao Francisco Pereira born 10 Mar 1865 in Velas, removed to Bridgewater, MA around 1884. The family story is that there were other family members living in the area.
