Emigration OUT of the Azores exists, but like many old records, there are gaps.
They are starting to come online (for about 6 years now) and only the port of Ponta Delgada has images (I think they go through the 1950s so not all of them are up yet). In Portuguese, these are called the "passaportes." http://pg.azores.gov.pt/drac/cca/ig/passaportes/ Use IE or Safari. I think someone said Chrome works too. Firefox doesn't work with the site (or stops working part of the way in). The later records state America, Brasil, Angola, etc. Rosemarie copied some of the early Angra records when they were online. Horta has never been online. You'll have to hire a researcher to search at those archives for you.
