I was told that the Freitas Library was also having all lof the
Portuguese newspapers they had in their library were going to be digitilized so
they would be searchable like the Newbedford, MA newspaper is now. I believe
this is another projecdt of the MA University, Dartmouth. I do not know when
this will be done or finished.

The UPEC building is located midway between Hwy. 580 and Hwy. 880.
Both are the major freeways between San Francisco and San Jose. Once you reach
San Leandro; If you are on the 880, Use the Davis St. exit and head for the
hills until you reach E.14th St. If you are on the 580, take the Estudillo
exit and head away from the hills until you reach E.14th St.

Another great reason for members of this group to attend is that if
you've never been to the J.A. Freitas Library before, you'll be
impressed at what a comprehensive reference resource it is, and it
might be of help in your research! Their web homepage is:
          http://www.mypfsa.org/library
I can't seem to find an online listing of their holdings, but it's
late here so my Googling skills are feeling a bit fuzzy :-) If
someone else can locate it online, would you please post it to the
          group? Thanks.

Hope some of you are able to attend the event and meet everyone
          there! Katharine

P.S. It's not that far from major freeways, as I recall.
