I think that Gibau Goncalves family is one and the same so they must have dropped the Goncalves surname when they came to the US. And what about the Emelia "Gomes" Gibau on ship manifest?? One more name to deal with. The following is from FHC records.
Justa Jiban married 12/25/1907 Providence to Antone Vierra. His parents Fedelis/Mary. Her parents Joseph/Milia (Emelia spelled incorrectly). Justa Gibou Vierra b. 1890 died 11/6/1949 in Providence. Spouse Antone Vierra, father Joseph Gibou, mother Emilia Santos. Justa and Antone had a son Joao b. 1919 and died 6/8/1920. They had a daughter, no name listed, b. 10/3/1908 both Pvd.
