Pat, it's about time I connected with some of my original group! Susan Vargas Murphy is the only one I ever connected with when I was doing my newsletter!
The grgrandfather that finally connected me with Familias is Bartholomeu Machado Lemos and his wife Isabel de Sousa. Marcio Borba told me originally about their marriage record in 1706 Calheta, Sao Jorge. Once I had that and their parent's names I was off and running. I got info from Familia Faialenses, the Genealogies of Sao Jorge by Fagundes Azevedo and also Nobiliario da Ilha Terceira. There are some discrepencies but for the most part they all three agree.
