I'm going to try to give as much info as I have, and hope someone
makes a connection.

My grandmother was Maria Lorencia Soares - - aka Mary L. Sears (1883
-1970). She was born in Cambridge, MA. Her parents were: Jose
Machado Soares - - Born in The Azores 24 July 1833 - Died 12 May
1905. My grandmother had at least two siblings - - an older brother.
Eugene Soares, and a sister, ?? and my Great grandmother, Joaquina
M. ??? (1842 - 1922). Joaquina had a sister, Filomena, who married
Joseph Machado Evangello. They all lived near each other in
Somerville, MA. Eugene lived as a boarder with his aunt Filomena and
uncle Joseph Evangello. My grandmother, Maria/Mary took care of her
mother until her mother died in abt 1922. She then married James
Ethelbert Hiltz (1877 - 1938) at the age of 39 yrs. In old family
pics, I find other names Costa, Machado, Mitchell, Evangello. I
understand that Machado was often changed to Mitchell. Anyone make
any connections??? Thanks for any help or suggestions. My family
tree on Ancestry, com is "Lavely/Hillman/Hiltzs/Soares Family Tree."
My email is" allevacon...@gmail.com. Thanks! Diane Lavely
