What you need to do is open the family tree maker file in family tree maker,
and export a gedcom file. Then import the gedcom file into Rootsweb.

Unless Rootsweb can directly import FTM files. I don't think so, but it's
possible. It can directly import some kinds of files.

Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] transferring genealogy programs

My computer crashed and I need some suggestions.

I need some suggestions as to how to transfer (is it even possible?) my FTM
2006/16 to Roots Magic. My computer crashed and I so have my FTM backed up
so it survived.

I understand that my version of FTM does not work with Windows 7 or some
such thing. Since I am one of those who would like programs to stay the
same until I die, I want easy and not many bells and whistles.

Thanks, Celeste
