Several years ago I read a scientific study that was posted online seeking to determine whether any surnames in the Azores were characteristic of a particular island. The only one with statistical significance was the surname JORGE on PICO. Unfortunately, a cursory web search tonight isn't bringing up the article. Does anyone else recall it, who can help locate it? (It might've been in Portuguese, but I can't recall for certain any more). Katharine.
