I will further offer the thought that anyone who says ... "my gedcom is at ancestry.com ... go look" is missing numerous opportunities. Anyone who takes that approach misses the opportunity presented by all the matches out there like me who will look for the matches with GEDCOMs and not look twice at someone who does not (assuming we are talking about a "family finder match" and not a direct Y or Mt match). Second, some will not want to look at an ancestry.com "gedcom" because most are full gedcoms. Mine has 35,000 individuals. 25 years of research and includes numerous unconnected persons of interest. The beauty of the FTM-DNA Azores link for your GEDCOM is that people see what matters and not a slew of peripheral people. Again, I strongly encourage you all who have not done so to load your family GEDCOM so fellow researchers can more efficiently and easily look for possible connections to your lineage. I cannot state more emphatically the importance of doing so if you are interested in furthering your family research. Best of luck to all. Al Rose In a message dated 6/2/2012 7:41:08 P.M. Fellow family history buffs. What Rick wrote in response to someone who matched him is a great example of what opportunities // research avenues are missed if you fail to load your GEDCOM to the Azores FTM-DNA site. Now, if you compare that unfortunate delay with the result that Albert Lewis Ball and I experienced when we located our mutual ancestors in a matter of a few days because we BOTH had loaded our GEDCOMs. This is exactly why Cheri, myself (and I am sure others) continue to encourage you to do so. Best of luck to all of you.
