Jim, Do you have other information (such as siblings' names) that could help ? I found a couple Antonio Brum and Catarina Rosa, but they were too old to have been Manuel's parents. Brum as a surname does appear on Pico, but could be part of a combination, e.g. Brum Rodrigues. Any chance of a second name for Antonio ? Also, women often show up with religious names, e.g. Maria Espirito Santo, rather than surnames. So, did Catarina use any other name(s) ?
Sorry, I wasn't able to find your couple right away. Maybe someone else on the list can help. Or, maybe the village in question hasn't come online yet.
