The name Luiz/Luis as a name was mentioned on another thread. So the topic of the other thread doesn't become taken over and become completely off topic, I started a new thread by beginning a new email.
In my database, I have 19 people of Portuguese descent with the first name of Luis or Luiz. I have 27 people of Portuguese descent with the last name of Luis or Luiz. Since I have no one with that name migrating to America, I don't see any Anglicization of the name. I need to figure out how many people I have in my database of Portuguese descent. I merged it together many years ago with my mom's Ozark lines. Should have never done that. If I had it separate, I would know what percentage of people that I have with the name of Luis/Luiz and that would let me know how common it is. It seems it my family to be of medium frequency (based on my research).
