Good morning, I found this interesting link I want to share written in Portuguese I found on the Nucleo Cultural da Horta site which lists the properties owned on Pico by Jos Dutra. You really get a sense that he was in a business partnership with Pero Anes do Canto who was also a big shot in the island of Terceira. Why is this important you are wondering? Well these two guys were very instrumental in the peopling of Pico island sending settlers from Faial and Terceira to develop the island, and it was no small feat considering that the island was hilly, rocky with shallow soil and had few accessible ports.
