Bill, Did you check all the “associate” boxes? I’m not to savvy on this stuff.

Apologies for asking this question on the azores chat group but; I couldn’t see
Bill’s email addy.

I use IrfanView. Been around for many many years. Opens and saves just about
any format. Has rotation and a nifty feature to paste left, right, top, bottom.
Great to add the back sides of pictures or pages of records into one image.
Also supports multi-page TIFF and JPEG. Get the plugins to create PDFs and do
OCR in Portuguese.... The advanced things like OCR, take some playing with to
understand.

Highly recommended (over turning your monitor upside down ;-)

Hi,

On Windows 8.1 and I think on Windows 8, you have two options for rotating an
image.

1. Open the image by double-clicking. That opens the Windows Photo Viewer
which has a rotation function in the tools at the bottom of the screen.

Or

2. Go the Start screen and find Windows Paint. It’s in the Accessories.
It has rotation and some simple photo editing tools. If you can’t find it, go
to the Start screen and type “Paint.” You don’t need to select or click on
anything. A search box will open on the right side of the screen and will
display programs with the word “Paint” in them. Click on the result for “Paint”
and it should open the Paint program.

This should be easier than rotating your laptop.

Interesting. Books on tour. Now I need to read everything after the close of
the books and learn to read Portuguese upside down! It was kinda weird turning
my laptop upside down and having the screen on my lap and the touchpad up there
and trying to navigate it.

You can stop laughing now. I'm not THAT ditzy! My old Photoshop doesn't work
on this Windows 8 computer. A genealogy friend has a less older Photoshop that
may work. She'll give me the disk when she finds it. Rotating in Photoshop
would be easier than turning my computer upside down!
