I'm on my way out and unable to translate it until tomorrow.  In any case,
heads up to anyone who may do so is that the "observation" regarding the
little chapel is indeed what they call it "o Imperio" it looks like a
chapel but it's not.  This is where they store the Crowns and Flags during
the year.  There are various "imperios" across the island bearing the name
of the respective brother/sisterhood.  This building is called "Imperio dos
Maritimos"  (Empire of the Seamen).
