I have hears of steep streets being named "Ladeira do _____". Although there is no street named it sounds like she died there, in the parish of Santa Catherina, not at home where she lived on Caminho Novo. I am not a native speaker so I may be reading something into this. I did compare to other obits to see how they were written.
