Thank you Rosemarie.  I'm new to these older records (been filling out the
tree rather than going deep).  Like starting all over with all of the
abbreviations!  More to learn....

Bill, the large "C" in many records is something that is peculiar to some
Priest's handwriting. I see it a lot in Norte Grande, Sao Jorge when writing
the dates. Sometimes the "C" is almost as big as the "T" in the word and it's
easy to mistake the date if you don't know which decade that you are searching!

Thanks once again Bill!  The way the record ended confused me, but I didn’t
notice the missing page. Perhaps I’ll look through to see if it was inserted
elsewhere. What a loss if missing.
You’re likely correct on the “C”. The way it made sections stand out just made
me think.
Cheers,

Hello Bill
There seems to be a page or scans (13v and 14) missing.  This is casamento #50
and the next page has what I assume is the last part of Casamento #52 before
#53 starts.  Looking at the last page of the index (image 115), it seems the
end  of 50, all of 51, and the beginning of 52 are missing.  The bride's name
is on the right margin where possibly someone tried to recover the lost
information.  It is Domingas Avila de Bettencourt and can be confirmed on the
index at the end of this book.  Her parents names are not clear to me but I
believe I see Manuel Lobam C?? and Catharina ?
As for Vasconcellos, look at Fran-CisCo (lines 7&8).   I think the large Cs are
purely stylistic.

Some questions about the bottom right record
here:http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/GRA-SC-GUADALUPE-C-1717-1742/GRA-SC-GUADALUPE-C-1717-1742_item1/P107.html

Trying to trace my da Silva de Vasconcellos line in Victoria, Guadalupe,
Graciosa.  Questions:

   - Is what I have here correct (dates/names)?
   - What is in the margins (can't make out key words, but looks like two
events for Joao)?
   - I've never seen "VasConCellos" capitalized this way.  Could this be a
combination with "Vaz" (as in "Vaz" from "Vaz do Conde Sodre" became combined
with "con" and "cellos")?
   - I can't make out the brides parents?  Seems to stop with the groom's
parents, but the right margin seems to have the information?
Bits and Pieces I can make out:The marriage of Joao da Silva (Vasconcellos) and

Loboa Corria ???

Thank you!
Bill
