Thank you this was very helpful. I’m noting in my database that the information 
came from this website. I had already got some of it from a book that Joao 
Ventura did for me and some Wiki articles on the history  of various historical 
people.

I used https://geneall.net - I think it was created by 4 or 5 Portuguese 
historians. It has current people as well and you can contribute, but I think 
it goes through a vetting process. The noble lines are color coded so it’s easy 
to follow. If you just want to look at previous kings, go to the main menu, 
select Former Royal House then Portugal. They are usually good at putting the 
source as well. You do have to register and for some content you have to pay 
($40 year roughly).
