Hi all, We're seriously looking at redesigning and re-launching the backstage website - at the moment we can see these key areas * Blog * News / Announcements
Wouldn't these two be best consolidated into one area. You could always tag certain posts as _news_ or similar and have them appear more prominently?
* Documentation
Any chance this could be wiki based maybe? or even incorporate some clever re-directory magic (http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-directory)?
* Searchable list of all feeds and apis * Showcase and examples of prototypes, as well as a profile page for prolific developers * Calendar of events
All useful, relevant microformats as well please (I have a stick, sorry!)
* Mailing list management (links to archive etc) Is there anything in particular that you guys would find useful, have we missed anything that you'd love to see. And most importantly…. Get your design hats on. We're going to commission a designer for the new site and we're happy to take on board any and all ideas you have. Just email me your design ideas and I'll work as hard as I can to integrate them.
I liked the idea of it being more open to people not nessesarily wanting to be involved in the development, more just the consumption of the output. Not sure if this is part of the grander plan but would be nice to see - and take some design work in particularly on the home page to get across to those people succinctly. Anyway, just my tuppence. (PS - my hosting issues are almost sorted… well almost…. You'll soon be able to read my amazing motor biking blog - www.thelondonbiker.com …. Really it's amazing… and a little later you'll also see a very fetching photo of me camping on the backstage.bbc.co.uk site.) m -------------------- Matthew Cashmore Development Producer bbc.co.uk [EMAIL PROTECTED]
