Hi Elias It's been a while since I was anywhere near this but from from memory /programmes shows desktop streaming availability. It doesn't look as if that episode is available to stream from desktop. The id attribute on the service element gives the service type of the availability. Looks like that episode is available for download but not streaming. I have no idea why that might be…
If you look at the availabilities for the canonical version of an eastenders episode: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01s80rz.xml You'll see pretty much all of the availability types. For desktop availability I think you're looking for something like iplayer_streaming_h264* Or pc_streaming_hd Someone else will probably know better than me Cheers michael On 30/04/2013 14:20, "Elias Häggkvist" <elias.haggkv...@gmail.com<mailto:elias.haggkv...@gmail.com>> wrote: Hi, Still have problems with expired times for some content. For example this for this show: b01k0y0n. If I look at it's version " www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01k0xkq.xml<http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01k0xkq.xml> " everything indicates that this should be available untill 2013-05-05T23:59:00: <availability> <start>2013-03-29T23:00:00Z</start> <end>2013-05-05T23:59:00+01:00</end> <media_items><media_item> <pid>p01723kr</pid> <service id="iplayer_download_http_h264_air_high"/><start_of_media_availability>2013-03-30T01:00:03Z</start_of_media_availability> But If I browse http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01k0y0n it says its not available. For most content it seems to work though. Is the programmes API not returning the correct end dates for some content or am I missing something? Episode xml doesn't really give much in the way of availability windows If you look in the episode xml you'll see a versions element like: <versions> <version canonical="1"> <pid>b01rryyq</pid> <duration>2700</duration> <types> <type>Original version</type> </types> </version> <version canonical="0"> <pid>p0172ztm</pid> <duration>2700</duration> <types> <type>Dubbed Audio Described</type> </types> </version> </versions> Each of the versions carries separate ondemand availability so http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01rryyq.xml Has an availability element with availabilities listed like <availability> <start>2013-03-30T19:00:00Z</start> <end>2013-04-06T19:59:00+01:00</end> <media_items> <media_item> <pid>p0172c5d</pid> <service id="mvod_streaming_virgin_hd"/> <start_of_media_availability>2013-03-30T12:09:42Z</start_of_media_availability> </media_item> </media_items> </availability> Hth michael On 04/04/2013 15:19, "Elias Häggkvist" <elias.haggkv...@gmail.com<mailto:elias.haggkv...@gmail.com>> wrote: I have problems finding out if content is expired. Comparing the two xml's below I have not been able to identify any parameter that tells that the later is expired and no longer available ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01rryzz.xml http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p011gpsb.xml Any suggestions on how to find out if a programe-ID is expired would be appreciated.
