All versions of Windows have a limit of 250-ish characters maximum for a full path, including the filename and extension, regardless of file system. I'm not aware of a lower limit imposed by the file system or OS, but it's likely related. Are you running Unicode-16 character set or UTF-16 on the server or Windows box, perhaps? That might halve the limit--I'm not sure.
