Thanks for all the tips everyone!
As everyone suggested: mounting the partition into the /var/lib/backuppc
directory
seems the smartest and easiest thing to do.
I will stick with that.
Seems more solid than symlinks and less processor intensive.
And I do agree with Carl here on the package thing.
This is acutaly on of the maior reasons I use debian.
Anyway, thanks for alle the quick reply's.
This was verry helpfull.

Yes, but if you install from 'scratch' (the tarball), you lose the
advantages that package management brings (easier upgrades, easier to
determine what versions you have, consistency between multiple machines,
easier rollback of versions). While some may contend their experience
contraindicates a need for such things with BackupPC; I still put forth that
production systems should use packages for *everything*, and not install
anything by hand.
It may not seem like a big deal if you're one administrator with a handful
of machines. When you have to work with other administrators, and you have
dozens or hundreds of machines, consistency (which package management helps
with) makes all the difference in the world when avoiding mistakes.
Making your own packages is a worthwhile skill to learn.
As always, YMMV. :)
