I've got a few backup servers that are backing up dozens of hosts; and
occasionally they don't get all the hosts in one night; so speed is a big
issue for me. :)

eSATA works just fine. Haven't had any problems with the one installation I
have. Can't remember the name of the enclosure we're using tho, and it's
1100 miles from me right now, so I can't go look.
