I've dealt with SMB permissions recently. I may be able to help. Emphasis on 
"may" - I'll try my best. My experience is limited to the problem I was having, 
which may or may not be good enough.

Anyway, this sounds like the symptoms I was having. If it's like anything I 
had, it's an issue on the W2K machines. Check to be sure the permissions of 
each folder allow "Domain-Administrator" to access them. I can't remember what 
it's called, but there's a tab somewhere in the folder's security properties 
that lets you see what permissions are being allowed and denied for a specific 
user.


BTW, if this is off-topic, should we be discussing this on the BackupPC mailing 
list, or should we allow it this once?
