In my case, I would like to backup WIndows client to my BackupPC server
(Fedora Core 6).
I tested 2 transfert methods (Samba & Rsyncd) and they both worked.
And now, I would like to test the Rsync with SSH transfert method.
So I created private/public keys and sshd is installed on my server.
For the moment I can connect from my Windows client to my BackupPC server
via ssh (with Putty) but that's all.

When I try to do a backup this is the error message :

Fichier /data/BackupPC/pc/HOST_NAME/XferLOG.bad.z
Contenu du fichier /data/BackupPC/pc/HOST_NAME/XferLOG.bad.z, modifié le
2007-10-09 10:26:51
full backup started for directory cDrive (baseline backup #72)
Running: /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -l root HOST_NAME /usr/bin/rsync --server
--sender --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group -D --links --hard-links
--times --block-size=2048 --recursive --ignore-times . cDrive/
Xfer PIDs are now 2611
Read EOF: Connexion ré-initialisée par le correspondant
Tried again: got 0 bytes
Done: 0 files, 0 bytes
Got fatal error during xfer (Unable to read 4 bytes)
Backup aborted (Unable to read 4 bytes)

An SSH Server is it needed on my Windows client ?

Did somebody has already succeeded to do backups with Rsync/SSH with
Windows clients ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Have a nice day
Regards,

Romain
