Yes, that was it!
The time on the server was changed by a program and the different
between the server and the client was appearantly to big!

Is the timestamp newer than the time of the last backup run, from the 
backuppc server's perspective?  If the clocks are different on the 
machines a changed file might still have an older timestamp than the 
backup run will take.
