I'll give you an example from my system (installed from a Debian package).
You can modify it for your own needs.

# /usr/share/backuppc/bin/BackupPC_zcat 
/var/lib/backuppc/pc/localhost/859/f%2fetc/fmotd.tail 

there's no arguments needed to BackupPC_zcat other than the filename.
