Yes, the numbered backup is completely deleted. Backup #0 under the
directory '0' is now the backup of the new configuration. I know the
old backup was definitely there before. I know this because I browsed
it through the Web interface. Then, I changed the configuration,
restarted BackupPC service, went to the web interface and saw that
Backup #0 for that machine was now the new stuff only. I was expecting
to see the old configuration's Backup #0 and the new configuration's
Backup #1. So, then, I decided to go straight to the disk and see
what's in there. Sure enough, only the new configuration's files were
there under '0' directory. There was nothing else numbered around.

This naturally scared me... This was just tryout/playing around, but I
have another machine that has been backed up for the last few
months.... I have only 50 backups of that machine... I wouldn't want
to accidentally do something to the configuration and see all of those
backups disappear. That's the scary part.

Can you explain this at all? Is this because the new machine is a
Windows client??? I don't see how that should make any difference, but
I don't know.
