Not really, the maximum amount of memory is more or less tied to the
type of backups your are doing and the number of files being backed
up.

For example, rsync backups of a large number of files can use a lot of
memory. If this becomes an issue, possible work arounds are to split
up the backup into smaller chunks or use a different transport
mechanism.
