@Matthias that is one of the threads I was referring to in my reply where the OP discussed his method based on elements of my approach. BTW, I stopped backing up Windows ACL and system files a long time ago -- it just wasn't worth it due to the complexity and uncertainty if it would back up everything needed at a bare-metal level restore.
