I would say from within the web interface. You could download it to
somewhere on your system or another system and compare them.

Not involved in backuppc development, but I run my backupoc install on
FreeBSD, so I am running on an encrypted ZFS pool. When I was running it on
linux, I was on an encrypted LUKS partition, so the pool was encrypted at
rest.

That is how I have traditionally done it.
