my script is like below now

 

#!/bin/sh

/usr/bin/bconsole -c /etc/bacula/bconsole.conf <<END_OF_DATA
unmount storage=DLT
END_OF_DATA

# the following is a shell command
/etc/bacula/scripts/delete_catalog_backup
### export TAPE=nst0
export TAPE=/dev/nst0
mt rewind
mt offline

exit 0

 

this is ok or i need to completely avoid the mt commnd using Offline On Unmount i didn't get you where i can use this if possible show me in script

The bacula-dir (which runs the RunAfterJob script) is running as group
"bacula" but the tape can only be accessed by group "tape". The bacula-sd is
running as group "tape" so that is OK.

You could try using the "Offline On Unmount" to make the bconsole's unmount
command eject the tape, which might remove the need for mt.
