The runtime on batteries is relatively unimportant. What counts is:
1. With a UPS, you won't have power spikes that can zap your CPU/memory.
2. With a UPS and software such as apcupsd, you can do an orderly shutdown of
your computer and your disks will be properly synced.

> How bacula will handle server(Director, SD or FD) shutdown?

If you pull the power plug, you can end up with a lot of damage if you are
writing a tape or writing on a disk (depending on the filesystem type).

If an orderly shutdown occurs (as with a UPS and proper UPS software), Bacula
1.38.0 and greater will cancel any running jobs and terminate writing the
tape correctly and your database will be properly synced providing you ensure
that your database is shutdown after Bacula.

Every computer and every network (including home setups) should be protected
by a UPS.
