Well I'm all about learning stuff :-)  ... I've had similar experiences for
sure with DDS media (multiple retnesion and drive cleaning sometimes to have
even new media work properly in some older drives) and the larger 12" platter
reels I had with a client on a VAX but I never really thought DLT would be
affected. It does make sense now that I hear someone else mention it though
(and it's possibly an easy fix if it works) :-)
