Hello David: if you submit a "status director" during backup you will be able 
to fetch the job status and why it is not running simultaneously.
Probably one of the resources (storage, job, client, director etc.) "Maximum 
Concurrent Jobs" directive is limiting your concurrency (by default its value 
is 1). 
Some sd.conf tape drive configuration directive also sets Bacula not to select 
drives automatically (Autoselect = yes/no);
I can't imagine any scenario where its a good idea to configure Bacula to 
access tape library drives directly.
