A long time ago it had occured to me that in the standard Christmas
story, the claim that the magi from the east knew that the messiah was
going to be born (if taken literally) strongly suggests that some form
of astrology has some validity.

But there are multiple systems of astrology (Greek, Babylonian, Hindu,
Chinese, etc.) so it is not clear which system is endorsed by the
above.

In the Kitab-i-Iqan (part one) I found a long passage which discusses
the above example along with other manifestations and describes how
their coming was accompanied by signs in the visible as well as
invisible heaven and mentions the examples of Abraham, Moses, Jesus
Muhammad and Bahaullah in this regard.

At the end of the chapter "The influence of stars" of SAQ 'Abdu'l-Bahá said

My common sense says that any prediction of the "Horoscope" made by any
crazy astrologer (especially diary prediction) is trash, but I wonder why
some important books in our secondary literature such as Apocalypse unsealed
(supposedly a tafsir) took the issue of Astrology as a source. On the other
hand, if Numerology (Abjad system) is not important, then why Bahá'u'lláh
gave same name values to believers as Nabil (Muhammad) and other crucial
words maintain the importance of numerical value.

We say that these "pseudoscience" has nothing to do with the teachings, but
at the same time we (and scholars too) quote them or use them in some way.
So, what's the truth and real contribution of these things?

I appreciate direct answers, thanks.
