I think that's naive since the guidance is that medical treatment is acceptable. The case I know of the House recommended SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) as an acceptable option.

Pseudo-hermaphrodites are genetically male but outwardly female, that has an instance of about 1:100,000 births, so there are about 15,000 such individuals in the U.S. alone. The instance of ambiguous genitalia is even higher.

Gender dysphoria, on the other hand is probably largely a mental thing, the faith recommends medical treatment for it. SRS is medical treatment.

Scott

In bahá'í view a homosexual is a "sick heterosexual" or "perturbed heterosexual". So "change of sex" doesn’t exist.

As human beings, we are endowed with freedom of choice, and we cannot shuffle off our responsibility upon the shoulders of God or nature. We must shoulder it ourselves. It is our responsibility.
