The Baha'i Studies Listserv You assume to be actively religious you need to be part of a community. Also, there are no Baha'i churches anywhere near here. The term churches is inccorect in as much it's the de facto Yellow Pages catogorization for any place of worship that is not a synagouge. Yellow Pages counts masjids (mosques), mandirs (Hindu temples), gurdwaras (Sikh temples), Kingdom Halls(Witmesses), etc. as churches even though the followers of those religions wouldn't use those terms except for convience of understanding. If Baha'is buitlt a place (or places) of worship, Yellow Pages would list it a Churches-Baha'i. No Baha'i group has built such a thing. Also, would Yellow Pages group together varying Baha'i sects or list them seperately? I wonder how much money it takes to build a place of worship. I could build a temple, shrine, pagoda, church, etc. if I was wealthy enoguh.

You are probably counted as 'inactive' because you don't go to Baha'i meetings. Go to any given church on Sunday. Any day but Easter only about a third of the congregation will be present. I might add this is much higher than in Europe where maybe 5% of the members will be present. __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:skg_z...@yahoo.com Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:leave-546598-1719008.2a3842ae5b2f7d34dd5fdfc724616...@list.jccc.edu Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to ly...@list.jccc.edu Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:bahai-st@list.jccc.edu Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/bahai-st@list.jccc.net New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/bahai-st@list.jccc.edu __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:arch...@mail-archive.com Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:leave-546611-27401.54f46e81b66496c9909bcdc2f7987...@list.jccc.edu Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to ly...@list.jccc.edu Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:bahai-st@list.jccc.edu Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/bahai-st@list.jccc.net New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/bahai-st@list.jccc.edu
