THE dmr GIS map of this area is really interesting. Locate this well on the dmr GIS map using their well search. You have all these vertical holes tightly spaced in the Blue Butte field, which apparently must be right to the west of the Blue butte itself, but none of these once producing wells appear to be producing any more. Then you have a number of horizontal wells drilled more recently just west of the old vertical field. This is as fascinating as western ND gelogy gets.
I need to google earth all of this to get my exact bearings to the west of Blue Butte. But this corresponds exactly to what I remember about Lee's description of the area. Most fascinating.
